Finally a solution for ringing in the ears

If ringing in your ears has been driving you to distraction then breathe a sigh of relief right now because you may just have found the solution.

Most audiologists and doctors have no idea how to treat tinnitus, despite the fact that over 60 years ago, a brilliant French ENT specialist by the name of Dr Alfred Tomatis invented a method that has given relief to many thousands of people with a range of brain and ear disorders – including tinnitus.

We have applied the science of the Tomatis method to create a proven listening therapy program called Sound Therapy that is easy, portable and affordable, and does not require clinic visits, specialist fees or drugs.

Sound Therapy is a convenient and practical method for relieving tinnitus. It is easy, effortless and enjoyable, and takes no time at all out of your busy life.

Tinnitus is hard to live with

It is hard for those who have never experienced tinnitus to understand the feelings of helplessness, frustration and despair it can bring. Being powerless to stop the sounds inside your own head can be stressful and exhausting.

Tinnitus is also often also accompanied by other effects such as dizziness, blocked ears and insomnia. Ringing in the ears that keeps you awake can cause extreme fatigue. It can make you want to avoid noisy environments and withdraw from social engagements, leading to isolation and loss of relationships.

Even more disheartening are the various professionals, groups and ‘experts’ who tell you the only solution for tinnitus is to learn to live with it.

Finally a real solution

Sound Therapy is such an effective tinnitus treatment because it works on the entire auditory pathway, from the eardrum to the cortex of the brain. It is a physical stimulus that reorganises the way the ear and brain respond to sound.

Sound Therapy addresses the root cause of tinnitus. Listeners who have suffered from tinnitus for several decades – some for up to 60 years – have finally found relief with Sound Therapy.

Here’s why

The existence of tinnitus means that something is wrong with the delicate balance of the ear. Drastic interventions can upset this balance even more, which means that precise and subtle fine-tuning is required to resolve tinnitus.

When there has been damage, ear muscles can become lazy. Receptor cells can stop responding, with pressure chambers becoming blocked and unbalanced. Once a few of these problems are in place, it’s easy for tinnitus to start up.

The great news is, given the right stimulus the ear is capable of repairing itself. In his post-WWII Paris clinic, Dr Tomatis invented a system that helped many veterans recover from tinnitus. He created a method of filtering music into a sound that was exactly what the ear needed to recover from tinnitus.

Noise induced tinnitus

The first stage of Sound Therapy is the rehabilitation of the middle ear muscles. These muscles play a role in tinnitus because they control the type of sounds that enter the inner ear. In tinnitus caused by industrial noise, the inner ear has been bombarded by so much noise that the tiny hair-like cells (or cilia) have been damaged or flattened. When these hair cells are damaged, the brain compensates by generating its own sound and people often experience a type of high-pitched tinnitus noise often linked to industrial deafness.

The gentle, complex high frequencies in the music of Sound Therapy are exactly the kind of stimulation the brain needs to start repairing the auditory pathways and stop this noise.

Initially the feedback in my ears got even more intense and occasionally it would switch on full blast. And then that gradually faded away. I had a couple of days where I felt really drained and I couldn’t do anything. Then my energy level started going up and I stopped getting the ringing in my ears. Now the tinnitus is virtually gone. I’d have to be in a super quiet room for me to hear a very, very slight rustle. Compared to the noise that was going on before, it’s improved out of sight. I find it very relaxing and I could listen to it all day. I also use it while I work and it brings a great sense of peace.

Sinus related tinnitus and blocked ear

Tinnitus may also be related to pressure imbalances in the middle or inner ear. This can be caused by infections or viruses, blockage of the sinuses or Eustachian tubes, or from poorly functioning middle ear muscles that cause pressure imbalances in the ear chambers.

Sound Therapy provides a gymnastic program for the middle ear muscles that helps to open the sinus chambers and restore balance to the ear. It also brings relief for those experiencing a frequent sensation of blocked ear.

Brain and stress related tinnitus

Stress often makes tinnitus worse, which is why relaxation, meditation and counselling programs can be helpful in some cases. Sound Therapy also works in this way, directly calming and reprogramming the auditory pathways in the brain.

A key difference is that you don’t need to spend any of your precious time in meditation or counselling with Sound Therapy. Just put the headphones on and go about your day, and the listening program takes care of the rest.

Tinnitus and dizziness

Tinnitus accompanied by dizziness can be due to Meniere’s Syndrome, BPPV, (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo) or poor functioning of the cerebellum (the part of the brain that integrates sensory input.)

By balancing the function of the stirrup muscle and improving cerebellar function, Sound Therapy can help to resolve the root cause of dizziness. Those who have experienced sudden, severe dizzy attacks with nausea, or long term dizziness and balance problems, can also find relief with Sound Therapy.

For more information on dizziness, refer to the ebook Triumph Over Tinnitus by Rafaele Joudry.

The ear damaged by sound can also be repaired with sound.

Nutritional support

Tinnitus and dizziness are an indication that the whole body system is in crisis. Ear function is affected by muscles, nerves, blood flow, sensory integration, mental attitude, digestion, toxic substances, genetics and many other factors. Most of these are able to be improved with the right nutritional approach.

There are over 200 different drugs that have been shown to cause tinnitus. These and other toxic substances may need to be cleansed from the body with access to the necessary minerals, anti-oxidants and herbs. You can find detailed information on the main drugs to avoid and how to use nutritional supplements to assist with tinnitus recovery in the eBook Triumph Over Tinnitus

I tried everything and found no relief. I have been listening to the music for a minimum of 3 hours a day. The tinnitus is hardly noticeable anymore during the day. And I have no trouble going to sleep at night. If the tinnitus wakes me up too early, I put my headphones on and am usually able to go back to sleep. My last visit to the otologist showed no further hearing loss since my audiogram two years prior. My husband used to talk about us in our rockers at 80 and I could not imagine living with tinnitus for 26 more years. Because of Sound Therapy, I feel like I have my life back and I look forward to a long life with my husband. I am handling stress better than ever and the sadness I had experienced due to the tinnitus has lifted.
