In the last two years, since the Covid-19 (see note) pandemic was announced, it has seemed to me as though only one message is being offered on every media channel. As a company providing a natural health product, we believe that it is part of our role to bring to light the broadest health knowledge available, stepping outside the standard medical paradigm offered by the pharmaceutical and medical industry today.
Our message has always been about supporting the body’s natural healing ability through the reduction of chemical toxins, and the provision of natural nutrients and positive sensory stimulus via the ears and brain. While some may perceive our approach as being outside of science, I have nevertheless found that the natural and holistic health field is in fact often ahead on the science, primarily because it both looks more broadly for treatments while also examining our body’s natural functioning in more detail.
We hear the advice that we should take our information from trusted sources. This is certainly true -- to have information sources we can trust. However, it is also important to know that we can consider independent sources and compare, and then make up our own minds. It is normal practice in medicine to get a second opinion from another practitioner when making a major health decision. With the internet and the media these days, information can very easily become “siloed” so that without realising it, we are only actually hearing one message.
Unfortunately, the information surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic has become highly politicised, and the idea of making up our own minds about our health has become divisive within professions, communities and families. Communicating different opinions is challenging as it can trigger fear, uncertainly and conflict. To understand a different point of view, we need the courage and curiosity to intentionally reach outside these restricted channels.
Getting that second opinion, and finding sources that I felt were independent, unbiased and grounded in true scientific enquiry, has taken me many hours and weeks of research. In the course of educating myself, I found some very interesting information from trustworthy sources, which I am grateful to now be aware of, and to be able to offer to those of my readers who may be looking to find information and solutions that are not currently being discussed in the mainstream media.
