Rafaele Joudry has dedicated her life to helping people overcome auditory problems and enhance their lives through better ear and brain health.

She pioneered the first portable Sound Therapy program after discovering how the program could benefit her mother’s hearing difficulties.

As world leaders in self help Sound Therapy, the Joudrys have enabled individuals from all walks of life to benefit from unique discoveries about the ear and brain. Based on research by specialists in hearing and the development of our nervous system, Sound Therapy can improve ear function and brain integration, relieve tinnitus and hyperacusis, and has a profound effect on the way the nervous system responds to stress.

Since founding Sound Therapy International in 1989, Rafaele has toured Australia, Europe & the USA to educate about the impact of sound upon our health.

Rafaele holds a Masters of Psychology specializing in Sound Therapy. She has authored dozens of articles plus three best-selling books: Sound Therapy: Music to Recharge Your Brain , Triumph Over Tinnitus  and Why Aren’t I Learning?

Educated in England and Canada, and now residing in Australia, Rafaele has a background in social work and community education, which engendered her interest in listening as the foundation of all communication.

Since 1989 Rafaele has given hundreds of radio and TV appearances and has been interviewed by many leading presenters including ABC’s Tony Delroy, James O’Loghlin of the New Inventors, well known TV presenter, Kerri-Anne Kennerley and Lisa Wilkinson on the Today Show.

She has spoken extensively to over 200 community and professional groups including the Tinnitus Association, SHHH groups, self help groups, audiologists, nurses, speech pathologists and music therapists. She has also presented her findings at a variety of health related conferences. She presented at the Mind of a Child Conference Sydney 2002, the Australian Audiological Society Conference Brisbane 2004 with Dr George and Paula Richards, the Women and Depression Conference Sydney 2005, The Diversional Therapy Conference Sydney 2005, The Spot on Developmental Disability Conference Sydney 2006, the Clinical Nurse Forum Sydney 2008, the General Practitioner Conference and Exhibition (GPCE) Sydney 2010, the Building Better Minds Conference Kentucky 2013 and the Equipping Minds Conference Kentucky 2014.

In order to further research into Sound Therapy and how it benefits brain function, hearing and learning, Rafaele is now leading a team of researchers in allied health fields, who are studying its effects on ear and brain function including such conditions as tinnitus, memory, stress, sleep, learning and depression.
